Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Rosheen's Cubicle Empty Rosheen's Cubicle

Post by Rosheen Cassidy Fri Dec 30, 2011 10:46 am

Roshen walked into her new, what would you call it? A cubicle? An empty toilet cubicle? An office? Rosheen didn't know. She put her box of stuff on her new desk and set out her quills in one draw, parchemnt in another. She filled up her desk until she had the last few things in the bottom of her box. One item was her old school photo. She smiled at her old friends and put the frame on the desk. She then got out one of her most precious items. The bone bracelet of her old friend, Savi. When Savi died, she left the bracelet to Rosheen and it was now her most precious item. What many people didn't know was that Savi was a banshee. She put the bracelet on and nearly cried. She flciked her cheek for getting sentimental. She then had a random laughing fit. When she had recovered, she got the last item out of the box. A ring made of sapphire. It was her grandmothers who she had never known. She put the ring on and it went well with the bracelet. She sat down and started writing the base of the one thing she had been getting ready for...

WAND RIGHTS
The following 'Beasts' deserve the right to carry and use a wand.

-Banshee
-Centaur
-Vampire
-Hags
-Merpeople
-House Elves

For what is the reason of keeping our secrets from others that could help us develop our magical skills? There isn't one. Of course, there are rotten fruits in a crowd of good ones. This is like all 'Beasts'. If we refuse them wands because some of them have put their people in an unfavourable light, we put ourselves in an unfavourable light. Just because Babayaga ate children, it doesn't mean all Hags do. Yes, Banshees can kill, but that is only because they have been pushed out of our society. Vampires will kill but at what point has Lorcan d'Eath ever killed someone?

Rosheen's Cubicle Empty Re: Rosheen's Cubicle

Post by Jaquellene Jack Dyllan Mon Jan 09, 2012 4:08 am

Jack was making her rounds. She had decided to curb this intern problem. She was gathering a list of people who had interns (asking who they were, were they adequate or even competent, etcetera) and then finding out who did not have an intern and who wanted one. Most of the cubicle dwellers did not have need for them, but she had already run into a few who had.

She stopped be one cubicle, to see a woman drying a piece of paper. Jack knocked on the flimsy wall of the cubicle and nodded her head. "Hi. I'm Jack Dyllan. The Boss Lady has been going crazy about these interns, sort of, and I wanted to know if you had any, and if you don't, do you want one?" Jack knew she had thrown a lot of information at the woman, but it was all important.

Rosheen stuffed the report she had been writing under a pile of book. "Hi, Rosheen Cassidy. No, I don't have an intern. But, I would love to have one." She actually wantd to teach someone her knowledge. She smiled and hoped that the woman didn't see the wand rights report...

The woman slipped her work out of Jack's line of vision, and then introduced herself. Jack did not mind the secrecy because she hated people looming over her work as well- which was why she did most of it at home away from her coworker's prying eyes. Besides, people knew Zoe liked Jack. No one wanted anything bad getting back to Zoe.

Not that Jack was one to tell.

Jack wrote the woman's name down in the column for an intern request. "Awesome. What are you looking for? One to do your clerical work, or one to assist in the field? Any preferences?"

"Well, I was planning to take a trip to the ban- erm, other races to see what they want for a better a world where we work together. So, really, anyone who is willing to help out and maybe take a short trip to Ireland and the rest of the UK." She always said Ireland before the UK. She had no idea why. Just a strange quirk about her. "But, they would also need some guts. And patience but anyting will do. Providing they don't think the world of themselves." She hoped the woman hadn't noticed her nearly saying banshees. She was worried that someone would find out the secret and probably get her kicked out of the ministry. But, for the time being, she would take an intern travelling to learn more about different races and how they live and work. Well, not work but be forced out of society. She didn't mention her pro-other-races-ness. Hopefully, the intern would be in her line of mind. If he/she wasn't, she felt sorry for them. Travelling into mountains with the strongest alcohol to drink being made out of potatoes and it was illegal, wasn't the greatest experience for all. She smiled and prayed that the intern was up for the challenge ahead...

Jack glanced up at the woman's hesitation, catching an odd look on her face, but Jack just tightened her lips and raised her eyebrows in an amused, knowing fashion, before lowering her quill down to the paper on the clipboard. She scrawled down the virtues the woman was looking for, writing quickly in her terrible, scibbled chickenscratch. At least she could read it.

She nodded as the woman finished. "All right then. Patient. Willing to travel. Brave. Humble. Hmm, a tall order for an intern. Anything else? A specific type of being? Or an accepting mind?" She gave the woman a knowing grin, letting her know she was not one to tattle.

"Well, any race really. I know it sounds a lot, but I'm sure there's an intern with it in them. If you can't find the One, don't worry, just send me someone who knows a little about the job." For some reason, he accent had become more Irish since she came in. She looked at te woman and waited for the next piece of information from her....

Jack nodded and scribbled some more words down, saying to the woman, "Okay sounds good. It's hard to find a specializing intern as it is. Most of them have never even dealt with any sort of magical creatures, so they need tons of instruction. I'm hoping that through this process we will manage to weed out the incompetent interns, you know." She nodded. "So that's Rosheen, with two e's?"

"I'll be happy to give them instruction. I have .... special training with different races." She hoped the woman didn't notice the strangeness in what she said. She hoped that she would get a decent intern. If she didn't, she would so annoyed with the intern. She had rules and she decided to set them. If they didn't keep to them, bye-bye intern. "Yeah, two e's." She smiled at the woman and hoped the intern was good enough....

Jack nodded at the woman's words. "Most of us do. When we have our own interests and own baggage, sometimes we can't help but to specialize in certain types, right?" Jack had always liked dragons, but had been unable to keep from pursuing werewolves and poltergeists too. It was just all of the events of her life continuing to affect her. It was natural.

She corrected her spelling of Rosheen's name, making sure it was correct in her records. She needed it to make sure the woman was correctly assigned. "Once I get everyone's names, I'll be sure to notify you if we find your intern."
