Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

The Wand of Destiny Empty The Wand of Destiny

Post by Thaorson Kam Elldir Tue Feb 01, 2011 10:40 pm

Thaor held up the wand he just finished to examine it. Perfect! he thought to himself. Thaor decided to test it out, he could feel the power from within it. Thaor flicked the wand while muttering expecto patronum instantly a brilliant white doe came from the end of the wand, looked around, then vanished as Thaor flicked the wand once more. [i]Very good, very good. This wand will be great for Robert[/b] Thaor said to himself.

Thoroughly satisfied with his work, Thaor sent an owl to Michael telling him he can come and get the wand at his leisure. After sending the owl off, Thaor sat down in one of the comfy arm chairs in the shop, and awaited for Michael to come.

The Wand of Destiny Empty Re: The Wand of Destiny

It had not been one of Michael's better mornings. Otto had eaten Michael's best fedora. Well, he'd chewed it into little pieces. Michael was not happy. The fedora had been hand made in Italy and had been pricey. He had no idea how the footstool had gotten it out of the closet, but Michael was sorely tempted to toss the enchanted ottman into a snowbank.

He got the owl from Thaor and decided that perhaps a nice long walk would help him to keep from either tossing the footstool out in the snow or making it into firewood. He put on his winter jacket and left the house, lighting his pipe, walking at a leasurely pace. He apparated to the far end of Diagon Alley and walked the distance to almost entirely the other end. It took him quite awhile, but when he got there he was in better spirits.

He entered the shop. "Good morning, Thaor," Michael called. "I got your message. Sorry I'm late. I had an arguement with what is most likely going to be firewood when I get home."

Thaor smiled as Michael entered the shop. I don't even want to know. Thaor said with a laugh as Michael apologized for being late. Thaor took the wand out of it's box, and layed it on the counter. The gold etching shined as a ray of sun came through the window. There you have it, just as you ordered it. Everything look alright with it? Thaor asked with a smile.

Michael smiled. The wand was beautiful. He picked it up and examined it. "Beautiful," he said, looking at Thaor. "Excellent balance. Strong, warm wood. The gold is perfect. Elegant and sophisticated, but not overdone. May I?" He opened the door to the shop and leveled the wand across the alley at an oversized terracotta flowerpot that was loaded with herbs that were frozen, dried up, and withered. He fired, and the wand blasted the flowerpot to dust. "Oooh. Very nice," he smiled. The owner of the shop across the alley swung her shop door open in an angry huff and began cursing at Michael in a screeching tone.

"Sorry about that, Esmerelda," he shouted. He really had no idea what the woman's name was, but she did remind him of some hag-like looking witch he'd seen in a muggle child's Halloween story book. The woman in the book had green skin and warts on her chin and her nose and cackled like a hyperactive chicken. The woman's screechy voice had brought the vivid misconception of wizards and witches up in his mind. It was not a compliment. He shut the door of the shop and looked back at Thaor. "How the deuce do you get along with her at all? She's annoying as hell. Its a beautiful wand. I'll take it. It has to be, unquestionably, one of the best I've ever seen anyone do. And its clearly one of your best too. Robert is going to love it. Well done."

Thaor laughed. You sure do like picking on her. he joked as Michael broke the lady's pot across the alley. I sure hope Robert likes it, I put a lot of time and effort into it to make it perfect for him. Thaor said as he walked over to the window to look at the old lady. She'll be fine. Thaor laughed as he turned to face Michael.

"I probably will have to replace those cheap pots of hers. You know, if she didn't make such a scene over some dead plants, I probably wouldn't enjoy picking on her nearly so much. I think I will get her a new plant--I'll get her one of those carnivorous jobs. What do you think?" He grinned. The carnivorous plants were sometimes snarky and aggressive, and they needed a firm hand.

"I have absolutely no doubt about the wand. Robert will love it. He's still using that cheap beatup old thing that he had when we were in Hogwarts. It does the job, but it really does not do him justice anymore." He drew out the sickles from his pocket for the agreed upon price, plus what Michael considered a well deserved bonus and laid it down on the counter. "Thank you. Robert deserves a good wand. He's going to truly treasure this one."
