A little bit of goofing around

on Tue May 09, 2017 7:16 pm
His daily routine was almost just the same. Great Hall for breakfast. Classes during the week, studying or walking around for the week. Great Hall for lunch. Classes or study depending on the day again. Going outside in better weather days. Maybe a sneak to the Quidditch Stadium hoping it wasn't taken by any of the house teams just to enjoy a little flight. Great Hall for dinner. And finally Gryffindor's tower. Always the same old talk as a broken record.

That day didn't escape the rule. He had had his classes and after them since the weather wasn't all so bad he had sneaked outside to glance at the stadium wondering whether or not it was taken that day. It was. Not wanting to stay there watching them play yet again Stephen turned to leave. The final match seemed to be approaching for what it seemed to be taken for days now. He had loved Quidditch ever since he could remember. He had been taken to a match and ever since he looked for them in the radio. He remembered every match and ever since he wanted to fly. He found out he was pretty good at that flying lesson back at the first year but never really tried to be a part of the team. He thought he was not good enough to play so he never tried. Shaking that off Stephen moved to a lonely walk around the grounds for a while before dinner.

It was after dinner, which he had went to have rather early, before all the other students came and filled up their seats at the house tables. He didn't really like crowds for there were no better time to feel alone when they all where around him talking cheerful and excitedly leaving him out. He was already used to that, or he told himself that he was... It still bothered him a bit not to be noticed at all but it was better not to give it much thought. He walked back to the tower and reaching there he entered after the access password was given to the Fat Lady. Since most of the people was still at having dinner the common room was rather empty and he decided to hang around until it was time to follow to the dormitory upstairs.

Peter had asked Julian to wait for him for after practice. Peter desperately needed to copy off Julian's Astronomy notes but his day had been full. The idea was practice, meet up, dinner.

But Peter had never shown.

Julian had lounged in an armchair, alternating between tugging on a loose thread in his sweater and shuffling through his deck of chocolate frog cards. But at some point, he had pulled out a bag of crisps and starting eating, and then later on, he had fallen asleep, one leg hooked up on the armrest of the chair while his head lolled over the edge, mouth agape.

The sound of the portrait screeched through his mind and he jerked upright, mid-snore, as Stephen Meyers stilled inside. "Hey Meyers," Julian yawned. "What's up, mate?"

Stephen walked through the portrait hole as casually as he used to considering he just walked back and forward and no one ever even noticed. What a surprise it was when he was not only noticed but even called. He started doubting someone would ever know how to do so since he seriously doubted they would know the name to use. 'You' was always a good choice if so was used. But that was not on of those days.

Looking around the room, Stephen searched for whom had done so and at some point he found this boy. Kapur he thought to himself. He did know many of his house mates names as much as the names of the other houses members that went on his year.

He couldn't help a small smile at the other's figure as if he had just woken up. "Hi, Kapur" he answered. "Nothing much really" he shrugged. The usual boring sad sad life. "You?"
