Anatomy of a good post

on Fri Oct 09, 2015 5:28 am
First, let's define "good".† To me, a good post is one that has enough information that I can reply to it.

There are two parts to any good post:

  • Your character's reaction
  • Your character's action/s

These are actually the same thing (reaction is just the action of responding to some or something else) and they are themselves made up of two other components - the mental and the physical.

  • Your character's reaction

    • what they think
    • what they do

  • Your character's action/s

    • what they think
    • what they do

The way you put this stuff all together is pretty much up to you, but that's the skeleton of a decent post.
