The ENFP personality is a true free spirit. They are often the life of the party, but unlike Explorers, they are less interested in the sheer excitement and pleasure of the moment than they are in enjoying the social and emotional connections they make with others. Charming, independent, energetic and compassionate, the 7% of the population that they comprise can certainly be felt in any crowd.

More than just sociable people-pleasers though, ENFPs, like all their Diplomat cousins, are shaped by their Intuitive (N) quality, allowing them to read between the lines with curiosity and energy. They tend to see life as a big, complex puzzle where everything is connected – but unlike Analysts, who tend to see that puzzle as a series of systemic machinations, ENFPs see it through a prism of emotion, compassion and mysticism, and are always looking for a deeper meaning.

ENFPs are fiercely independent, and much more than stability and security, they crave creativity and freedom.

Many other types are likely to find these qualities irresistible, and if they've found a cause that sparks their imagination, ENFPs will bring an energy that oftentimes thrusts them into the spotlight, held up by their peers as a leader and a guru – but this isn't always where independence-loving ENFPs want to be. Worse still if they find themselves beset by the administrative tasks and routine maintenance that can accompany a leadership position. ENFPs' self-esteem is dependent on their ability to come up with original solutions, and they need to know that they have the freedom to be innovative – they can quickly lose patience or become dejected if they get trapped in a boring role.

Luckily, ENFPs know how to relax, and they are perfectly capable of switching from a passionate, driven idealist in the workplace to that imaginative and enthusiastic free spirit on the dance floor, often with a suddenness that can surprise even their closest friends. Being in the mix also gives them a chance to connect emotionally with others, giving them cherished insight into what motivates their friends and colleagues. They believe that everyone should take the time to recognize and express their feelings, and their empathy and sociability make that a natural conversation topic.

The ENFP personality type needs to be careful, however – if they rely too much on their intuition, assume or anticipate too much about a friend's motivations, they can misread the signals and frustrate plans that a more straightforward approach would have made simple. This kind of social stress is the bugbear that keeps harmony-focused Diplomats awake at night. ENFPs are very emotional and sensitive, and when they step on someone's toes, they both feel it.

ENFPs will spend a lot of time exploring social relationships, feelings and ideas before they find something that really rings true. But when they finally do find their place in the world, their imagination, empathy and courage are likely to produce incredible results.

FATHER: Walden Macnair, 45

MOTHER: Petra Macnair (nee Demetriádou), 42

SIBLING/S: Eva Macnair 14, sister.

Gita Aach, 67, nanny.
Magdalena, 18, ex.

BLOOD STATUS:  Pureblood.

PET/S: Kittens named Cara and Wilson.

Walden Macnair and Petra Demetriádou married only because of political reasons, their families thought it might be useful to share their connections, and since these two young people have nothing against that if the other one is a. a pureblood, b. wealthy their parents arranged their marriage so they don't need to see each other before that day. It was true they could still meet each other if they wanted, with Petra's family moving temporarily from Greece to their mansion in the UK so they could be more involved in whole wedding preparations, but Walden nor Petra showed any interest in meeting each other. They knew they're doing this only to get the marriage certificate, and it wasn't like they need to be monogamous once they got marry, they can still do all the things they done before the marriage, the only thing that would change is that they'll live in the house their families bought for them, more like a roommates than like a lovers.

Iris Teodora Abigail Macnair was born March, 3rd 2011. in St.Mungo's. Did her birth make any change? No. As soon as Petra came home from hospital (Walden didn't visited them, why would he do that? It's a girl, after all.) with her daughter, she handed over the child to a nanny they employed before Iris' birth. The nanny needed to be special, of course (since they're pureblood), so she needed to have finished course in pedagogy, she needed to be a tutor and know at least one foreign language, preferably French or German so he could teach Iris. They wasn't pretty satisfied with the nanny they employed, her name was Gita and she was retired nurse coming from Berlin, but she was also half blooded witch, see the problem? After they left their daughter with her nanny the couple went back to everything they did before Iris was born, seeing their daughter only during the lunch, and couple of times in the garden when Gita took her for a walk.

Eva Doris Charlotte Macnair was born three years after her sister in St.Mungo's. Did her birth make any change? Yes. While their older daughter seemed to be quite uninteresting, Petra really liked the younger one. That doesn't mean she didn't handed Eva to her nanny (this time it was Elise, French witch with no special qualifications instead of being pure blood), she is, but she make sure she visits her every now and than. Petra was still as far from being a mother as possible, but she noticed one of her daughters for the first time. Walden? Walden, didn't. She was a girl. A girl. That's the same as if she (and her older sister) didn't exist at all.

Petra Demetriádou, now Petra Macnair was one quite pretty lady, the nature was responsible for some of her beauty, for the rest it's her ability to change her appearance because she was a metamorphomagus. During one lunch Macnairs discovered Iris inherited her mother's ability, when she accidentally, mimicking her mother, changed her hair from ginger to the colour of copper wire, it wasn't drastic change, but it was enough to make Walden laugh (laugh at her, not with her) and Petra to find some other metamorphomagus willing to learn Iris some basics about changing her appearance, because Petra was too busy to do it by herself, and she had enough money to hire other people to do that.

Soon after Iris came to Hogwarts it became clear she's quite ordinary. She's clever, but not the most clever student; she's ambitious, but not the most ambitious, she's brave but not the bravest, kind but not the kindest. Usual. Normal. Boring. She was even scared that the sorting hat won't find any place for her so she'll be asked to return to home where she'll give Walden another reason to laugh at her. Fortunately, that wasn't the case, the hat sorted her in a house she liked (does it count if she liked any other house as well?), and she find herself enjoying at Hogwarts. She still missed her home, she missed Gita and little Eva but she liked being here.

Feeling owls was interesting, learning not so much, she did it sometimes, though, usually before her exams so she could pass them. She never get any Os, but she wasn't the worst student either. Transfiguration was hard, although that should be the easiest subject since she was practicing changing her appearance since she was a little kid, but it ended being the most difficult subject she ever had, she wouldn't pass it without instructions her friend, Kyle, was giving to her. In the middle of her first year Iris got a permission from a headmaster to never touch a flying broom again, while she was in Hogwarts. That happened after a series of incidents she caused every time she tried to fly. First time she lost control over her broom and fled all over the castle ending in hothouse and interrupting a class of herbology for third year. She got one month punishment for breaking the window on purpose and destroying a couple of plants as well as her brom, because Miss. Macnair wanted to attract attention her flying teacher said to Head of her House. After no more and no less than eight other incidents caused while flying she was told she doesn't need to be on flying classes until further notice. And she was so happy because of that. Her final score was A, the teacher gave it to her only so Iris couldn't kill anyone if she tries to fly during her exam.

When Eva came to Hogwarts, Iris was on her thrid year, and the girl couldn't be more proud when she saw that her little sister is rocking every class she was taking. Petra and Walden were proud too, especially Walden who noticed one of his daughters for the first time, then. Iris wasn't jealous at all, not even the slightest because their parents showed less attention to her. When Eva started her second year she joined the Quidditch team, as well as Wizarding Chess Club. Iris, a person who couldn't concentrate on chess even if her life depends on it, and a person who can't fly at all, was happy for her.

Walden and Petra noticed Iris for the first time when she came on her winter brakes at her fifth year, along with her girlfriend. Walden was terrified, he somehow accepted the fact that he has two daughters, but he couldn't imagine that his daughter, one pure blooded witch, likes person of her own gender. They sent Magdalena home through their fireplace then ordered their daughter to feed their owls while they have a talk. Iris did what they said although she wanted to scream, knowing she'll only got punished if she tries to argue with them. When they called her back, they told her she'll visit one prominent psychiatrist, a friend of theirs, every day until she returns to Hogwarts. Iris agreed thinking that's just a phase, that they'll soon forget about it, that they'll forget her, they're good at it. She sent a letter with an apology to Magdalena. The other girl never replied.

There's something with her and winter brakes that's almost as fatal as Iris' flying. One evening she left her house heading for a walk, heading to find her sister, more precisely. Although Petra and Walden ignored that, their younger daughter had a little problem, she liked to steal things. Eva could afford all those things using only a bit of her family money, but she liked to steal them. First time when Iris pulled her out of trouble, her sister told her she's doing that only because she likes uncertainty and adrenaline. Iris proposed her to enroll in archery, fencing, something like that. Eva refused but she promised her she'll never steal anything again. Until tonight. Iris got Eva's message (the girls bought muggle phones so they can stay in touch with each other wherever they were without breaking 'no magic outside of Hogwarts' rule. Iris entered the store only to find Eva with salesperson and policeman. Owner of the shop decided to press charges against the girl, but the girl refused to tell them her name, and she didn't have an ID, so they let the girl call their parents. „Iris“, Iris replied. „Her name is Iris, Iris Macnair.“ She also told them that the girl parents are coming but they asked if they could wait them outside, so they can find them. Iris handed Eva a bobby pin (they learned that because their parents liked to lock the doors), so she could open the handcuffs, while the policeman isn't looking at her direction. Before Iris could change her mind, she took the handcuffs and put them, slowly changing her appearance, as Macnair's car entered the parking. Iris turned towards her sister, now looking similar to her, only a person who knows them well could tell the difference, and ordered her to inconspicuously leave. Without looking back at her, Iris yelled „Daddy!“, it was the first time she called Walden 'dad' and tried to run towards him but the policeman stopped her. She could see him frown, but he said nothing.

A week later Iris was in children's reformatory home. The owner pressed charges, and Walden said nothing to stop him, although he could offer him some money, he could still have a plenty of money even if he bought his whole shop, but he agreed with verdict, saying she'll learn she can't steal that way, so Iris ended with 6 months of living in the reformatory home. At first she was angry, on her dad, on her mom (she could stop Walden if she wanted to), on her sister for stealing on the first place, but she never said anything. The moment she stepped at the reformatory home, she slowly returned her old look (it started to disappear after a few minutes of being her sister, anyways).

Iris returned to Hogwarts two days before the end of the school year, her family made sure she can take her exams (at least something), but she failed in two exams cause she didn't have enough time for studying in the reformatory home since she was always surrounded with muggles. Meaning? She needed to attend her sixth year again. But this time, everyone will think she's some kind of juvenile delinquent. Yay for Hogwarts. Yay for her sister. God, sometimes she really wants to strangle her.

Rina, if you're using Walden MacNair, you're a bit off on his age.  According to the wiki, he was one of the first Death Eaters and fought in the first wizarding war--a war that ended in 1981.  If my math is correct, your age for him would make him entirely too young to be the MacNair of canon. Is that really what you intend?

I could see him perhaps having married a younger woman or perhaps this being the granddaughter of Walden, but the age thing doesn't add up, unless I'm mistaken.

Honestly, I thought he's the executioner's son, not that he's that Walden who fought in the war, because that Walden is probably older than Malfoys (Lucius and Narcissa) and their grandchildren are as old as Macnair's children. It's unlikely.

okay, well, i didn't get that this walden was a different walden than the canon one.  somehow i missed that. i just knew it didn't work out mathematically for them to be one and the same.  thanks for clearing that up for me on how you're seeing that.

that being said, now we get down to looking at houses for her. i almost see her as more of a hufflepuff than a slytherin. she'd be a stretch to fit into slytherin.  but she's got enough dedication to friends and those she loves to be a decent hufflepuff.  she's selfless, but i'm not seeing her as assertive enough to fit for a gryffindor.  and i see possibly a wee bit of Ravenclaw, but not as much as Hufflepuff.

I don't see her as a Slytherin they're ambitious, smart, and she's quite the opposite (unambitious and average smart but lazy and she doesn't crave for fame or academic achievement) yet she likes to learn but only things that interest her, and she's that curious that she needs to stick her nose everywhere, so I can't say she wouldn't fit in Ravenclaw. She's a pacifist and likes to hang out with people but she doesn't wear pink sunglasses either. Yet she would do everything to help the people she cares for. That means ... I have no idea where would she fit the best, I'm fine with either of those houses. Smile

Well, we're basically on the same page, then. That's fine by me.  I just wanted to double check that perhaps you didn't have some preference for a different house.

Accepted and sorted to Hufflepuff!
