WAND: Willow, Unicorn Tail Hair Core, 10 inches + Unyielding

Willow is an uncommon wand wood with healing power, and I have noted that the ideal owner for a willow wand often has some (usually unwarranted) insecurity, however well they may try and hide it. While many confident customers insist on trying a willow wand (attracted by their handsome appearance and well-founded reputation for enabling advanced, non-verbal magic) my willow wands have consistently selected those of greatest potential, rather than those who feel they have little to learn. It has always been a proverb in my family that he who has furthest to travel will go fastest with willow.

Unicorn hair generally produces the most consistent magic, and is least subject to fluctuations and blockages. Wands with unicorn cores are generally the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts. They are the most faithful of all wands, and usually remain strongly attached to their first owner, irrespective of whether he or she was an accomplished witch or wizard.

Minor disadvantages of unicorn hair are that they do not make the most powerful wands (although the wand wood may compensate) and that they are prone to melancholy if seriously mishandled, meaning that the hair may 'die' and need replacing.

EYE COLOUR: Hazel-Green

GENERAL APPEARANCE: Corrine is of a slim build with long brown hair. Although most of the time her hair is a usual mousy brown it's not uncommon to see a coloured streak in her hair every now and then, her favourite being green as that is the colour she had when meeting Louis Weasley. This streak is reflective that, despite her caring, compassionate and mature nature she also has a fun side and enjoys socialising. Corrine is well presented and keeps herself looking clean and fresh - simply by looking at her you wouldn't be able to tell that she had a poor upbringing, nor that she is an extremely busy person with a lot of priorities.

1. To ensure that the death eaters never know that her brother has deserted them.
2. To remain a death eater
3. To continue caring for her Father
4. To marry Louis and have a family of her own.

Checks on her Father everyday after work.
Reads on the bed once she gets in from visiting her Father.
Adds a drop of Firewhiskey to her coffee.

Corrine's greatest fear is that the death eaters will discover that she never wanted to be a death eater, still doesn't want to be a death eater and that she is covering for her brother deserting them. As a result her boggart would take the form of a death eater attempting to kill her.

Takes the form of a seal, resembling her protective motherly nature and desire to keep her family warm in the midst of a harsh environment. Corrine can use several memories to conjure a patronus as listed below:
- Making new friends at Hogwarts
- Achieving her qualified nurse status
- Spending time with Louis

Although Corrine can't remember what happened when she was two years old and got in between her fighting parents whenever the dementors are near Corrine hears those screams of anger, the slamming of her parents bodies against the walls and the crashing of objects as they uncontrollably flew around the room.

Her greatest secret is that she isn't a true death eater and that her brother has deserted them. If anybody were to find out her true loyalties are to anybody but the death eaters then not only Corrine's safety would be in jeopardy but anyone who she is close to and could be use as a way to inflict pain upon her.

If Corrine were to look into the mirror of erised she would see herself and Louis as adults surrounded by a group of children. Her desire is to have a happy family, a family where she can provide things for them that her Father couldn't for her and known that she escaped the cycle that it appeared her brother was sinking into.

Corrine is sociable, somewhat flirtatious and is a caring girl. There may be a witty side to Corrine every now and then but the core of her personality is her heart. It is hard to find a woman who is more compassionate and loyal than Corrine. She knows exactly what is for the greater good and has consistently put herself aside, shed her own dreams of becoming a healer, in order to be that support for her family. She's dependable and would do anything to help someone. Perhaps a downside is that she sometimes cares too much and doesn't know the point to put herself before someone else.

FATHER: Dirk Redgrave, 42, Unemployed wizard

MOTHER: Stacey Thomas, 42, Muggle

TWIN BROTHER: Scott Redgrave, 22, Death Eater

Corrine's upbringing was not exactly what you'd call the best of childhoods. Her parents had only been together one month until, at the age of 20 Stacey Thomas fell pregnant with twins: Corrine and Scott. Neither Stacey nor Dirk were ready for parenthood and for the first couple of years the pair struggled their way through working two jobs each to afford the rent of their new apartment and the cost of carrying for the unexpected twins without the support from their disapproving parents. In addition to that Stacey had no idea, having met Dirk in a night club, that the Father of her children was a wizard. This fact soon came to haunt him when strange things happened around the twins. Scott would often find himself in trouble, vases were about to fall on him and, if Corrine was there they'd stop above his head before returning to their precarious position on the table he'd been rocking. Stacey would blame it on her eyes, believing that she was seeing things and for a couple of months Dirk would agree, strengthening her belief that she was going a little crazy. That was until one awful night when Stacey brought home a man she'd secretly been seeing, presuming that Dirk was working the night shift. Unfortunately for Stacey he wasn't and the parents began to argue. Dirk was mad, Stacey was mad, the man had fled the house and Corrine somehow ended up in the middle of her parents and sent them both flying across the kitchen, provoking her Father to withdraw his wand to silence his screaming daughter. The sight terrified Stacey as objects soon began to fly around the room and light bulbs flicker and Corrine's silent screams sent shivers down her spine. It was Dirk's turn to do some explaining. Within fifteen minutes Stacey had packed her bags and left, leaving her 'crazy husband' to raise his 'crazy children' alone. Neither Dirk nor his children saw Stacey again.
The first few years were difficult. Dirk was barely making enough money to feed himself let alone Corrine and Scott. Their clothes were tattered and too small and apart from a second hand toy broomstick all that the pair could do was cause mischief on Diagon Alley whilst their Father worked in Flourish and Blotts. At least Scott caused the mischief whilst Corrine tried to keep a close reign on her brother. Most of the time she'd sit on a bean bag and read in Flourish and Blotts whilst he'd rearrange the books simply out of boredom. However, when the children turned nine years old their Father decided to let them roam the Alley and it was this when Scott would cause trouble from stealing ice creams to sneaking down Knockturn Alley and throwing stones at the shop windows to test the shop owners. Naturally Corrine was the one to get the blame for these, she'd be wasting too much time trying to correct anything her brother had done that she'd be the only one left at the scene of the crime whilst Scott had scuttled away.

Dirk was glad when the pair received their letters from Hogwarts because it made his life easier. No longer did he have to worry whether his children would receive a decent meal or try and payback Madame Malkin for the costumes his children stole. However the only thing Dirk knew almost his entire adulthood was how to care for his children, how to live on the breadline. This uncertainty of what to do with his time and loneliness led to him sitting in The Leaky Cauldron every night after work and blowing most of his earnings on firewhiskey.
Meanwhile Corrine was having just a difficult a time at Hogwarts as her Father was at home. Sadly she hadn't been sorted into Slytherin like her brother meaning for the first time she wasn't with Scott every hour of the day. This was rather upsetting for the first couple of years. Corrine would try and tag along with her brother and his Slytherin friends, attempt to get involved in their games and would even learn jinxes that were beyond their age in an effort to impress his friends. Sure they accepted her at first but Corrine soon began to realise that pranking people, misbehaving in class and landing herself in detention wasn't her. She wasn't being true to herself and was wasting her education.
In the third year Corrine decided to take a step back from following Scott and his friends, instead she turned her attention to making friends within her own house. This proved easier than she'd thought and soon enough Corrine was a rather popular girl among her house peers and, like her brother, Corrine was finally happy. After all the years of being deprived because of her social class Corrine felt equal. She was achieving just as good grades as the students in high quality robes (The Redgraves worn second hand robes) and those in her house were accepting of her regardless of her background. The only problem tarnishing her reputation was the fact that she still cared for her brother.
By the fifth year Scott was playing up in every lesson and Corrine felt an obligation to steer her brother and stop him becoming a runaway train before he derailed. This was a challenge and Corrine found herself spending less and less time with her friends and more and more time skipping class to try and stop her brother from sneaking out to Hogsmede and taking sugar in the disused bathroom. He never listened and a year later Scott had gotten himself expelled for jinxing the Gryffindor Quidditch Team during their match against Slytherin, causing all seven students to reside in St Mungo's for three months after suffer nasty injuries from the fall as well as the curses. Albeit he would go down in Slytherin history it was the final straw and Corrine watched, teary eyed, as their Father dragged their son from The Entrance Hall.
That Summer Corrine had expected to come home to Scott trying to change his life around upon realising how he'd wasted the foundation years messing around. Corrine was wrong. Their Father, now an alcoholic, had turned to gambling and Scott was simply sitting around the house depressed for no longer could be produce magic as his wand had been taken and snapped after he had been expelled. In an attempt to motivate her brother Corrine worked part time at The Leaky Cauldron to earn money so she could buy her brother a wand - and this also served a good opportunity to keep an eye on her Father. At age sixteen Corrine had become the Mother of the family trying to care for her Father and her brother, the latter of who didn't appreciate the wand and was using it to practice dark magic whenever Corrine wasn't looking. There were time that he was tempted to curse her but the heart inside of him couldn't do it so instead he endured her watchful eye that summer in hope that when Corrine returned to Hogwarts for her seventh year he would be free to meet up with graduated Slytherin's and 'get back to the good old days.'

Corrine, however, decided against returning to Hogwarts. As much as she valued an education caring for her family was more important, pushing her dreams of becoming a healer out of the window. Luckily she had grasped a good enough knowledge and with a little extra training Corrine became a nurse at St Mungo's. The hours were long but the pay was decent and the job satisfaction was high. Not only did being a nurse match her personality perfectly it kept her busy and pushed her worries to the back of her mind.
For four years Corrine continued the marvellous juggle act of working at St Mungo's and watching over her brother and Father. Dirk was easier to manage, just as long as she poured all the alcohol away each day she home from work she was fine (keeping the fire whiskey for herself). He was spending all of his Flourish and Blotts earnings on the slots, which wasn't the most ideal situation but Corrine had watch her Father care for the three of them on one wage her whole life and now she was doing just that herself. Scott, meanwhile, was difficult. He'd lost all respect to Corrine and her endeavours were futile. Nonetheless he hadn't yet become a death eater (Corrine's fear given his hatred of muggles upon learning the reason that their Mother left was because her children were magical) and he'd found himself a part time job collecting potion ingredients for the apothecary on Diagon Alley.
After her twenty second birthday things started to look up for Corrine. She'd met a man, Louis Weasley, in a muggle coffee shop when taking a lunch break from work and being around him took her troubles away from her. Simply looking into his eyes allowed the weight pressing down on her shoulders to evaporate. It wasn't long before the pair moved into an apartment together. This decision had been difficult for Corrine. She was worried about revealing her family to Louis in case he left her for the troubles they carried. Thankfully Louis' auror wage helped to cover the rent meaning she was still able to secretly pay her Father and Brother's rent.
Sadly the closest thing to a fairytale ending Corrine appeared to have turned sour. At work a patient was admitted for being cursed and their house stolen, nothing too out of the ordinary until the patient perfectly described Corrine's brother as the attacker. After work Corrine tracked her brother down and the two began to argue in the kitchen where their parents had once argued. Ten minutes into the yelling Scott had pulled back his sleeve and showed her the dark mark he'd been branded with proving that he didn't need her. Corrine's worst fears had been realised. Luckily she managed to calm her brother down and pretended to listen to his reasons for joining, pretended that his views were right and in a blink of an eye said that she wanted to sign up along with him. It was the greatest act she'd ever performed, much better than the lame excuses she'd told the shop owners of Knockturn Alley to cover up her brother throwing stones at the windows.
Naturally the idea of joining the death eaters scared Corrine to death, she couldn't do it alone she didn't have the strength, the boldness that that required. Returning home to Louis she told him everything and explained that they needed to join the death eaters in hope to gain his trust and pull him from them.
Three months into the job and Scott had killed someone, a squib that had been causing problems for the death eaters upon learning about their activity and threatening to hand it to the ministry. As much as Scott had been a tearaway teen he wasn't designed to kill. The first person he called upon after completing his mission was Corrine. Arriving at the scene she helped to clean the mess, dispose of the body and believing that she'd gained her brothers trust told him to resign, leave the death eaters. Looking at her in horror he told her he would never do such a thing, questioning her loyalty and honour, something Corrine held deeply to her heart, that was until he broke down into tears. Scott wasn't designed to kill. As much as he wanted to be a death eater in theory, practically it was a completely different story. If he left he would be killed.
Without a blink of an eye Corrine proposed a plan: He would disappear, leave the country. Corrine invented a plausible excuse that the two had been travelling, Scott had met someone and decided to continue travelling with his new found love. That way he wouldn't have been able to give a formal resignation and as long as Corrine was attending regular meetings it wouldn't raise too much suspicion. The downside of this mean't that Corrine was tying herself to the death eaters for life so that her brother could be free. It wasn't the best thing, especially seeing as Corrine would have to act the part of a death eater and take on death eater duties but the biggest lesson in life that she'd learnt was that family always came first.
That afternoon Corrine and Scott packed their bags and left the country and the two began to travel to Asia together. Corrine had sent a resignation letter to St Mungo's and a letter containing her vault details to their Father. As far as everyone was concerned the pair were travelling the world together, which was true.
Three months into the trip Corrine decided that it was time for her to return to England before the death eaters became over suspicious. Scott hadn't find found the love of his life on their travels but the fact the pair had actually travelled together meant that upon her return the stories Corrine told the death eaters would be mostly true.
Now Corrine has returned to England to pick up her life again.

She looks fine to me, RJ.  We don't often get characters that make poverty a significant part of the backstory. I like it.

Accepted and sorted to grads!
