HARRIS, Marlene Fae

on Wed Mar 04, 2015 6:10 am

FULL NAME: Marlene Fae Harris.

AGE: 22, January 23

ALLEGIANCE: Death Eaters

HOGWARTS HOUSE: If she went to school, she would have been Slytherin. She was "homeschooled."

WAND: Rowan, Basilisk skin, eleven inches + springy

PLAY BY: Hannah Murray

HAIR COLOUR: Frumpy blonde hair.

EYE COLOUR: Brown hair.

GENERAL APPEARANCE: Marley is a pretty girl, though she is a bit too small. Her eating habits are not good, as she eats very little and her drug use wears her pretty thin as well. Her knees and elbows are incredibly angular, and her hip bones and collarbones protrude. Because of this, she is not very strong. She is quick, however, and she has very muscular shoulders and arms from her training with weapons.

Marley's front teeth are slightly buck-ish, and she has large brown eyes. Her eyebrows are a darker shade of blonde, almost looking brown, that that of her pale, straw colored hair. Her hair is typically messy, though it is straight, and rests limply around her, reaching about midway down her shoulders and chest. She has a dimpled chin, slim cheeks, and a slightly pinched nose. Her smile is wide but never seems to reach her eyes.

Her style is incredibly varied. She dresses in baggy shirts and skirts, in tight pirate pants, in ruffled blouses, tall boots, beaded sandals, etcetera.

BOGGART: Her greatest fear is to be made a fool of, to be as weak as possible. Her boggart appears as herself, crawling on the ground, dying and poor.

PATRONUS: Is it exactly fond? No. But her first kill still fuels her with adrenaline and excitement, enough to produce a patronus which takes the form of a ringtail.

DEMENTOR: Sloane Garret's death has been, by far, the worst thing to happen to her.

VERITASERUM: Marley really doesn't have one great secret, as she keeps most of her life hidden. Those who work with her might not even know her real name, that's how deceptive she is.

MIRROR OF ERISED: Wealth and security. The Mirror of Erised would show her in rich clothes, holding bags of money.

As an ESTP, your primary mode of living is focused externally, where you take things in via your five senses in a literal, concrete fashion. Your secondary mode is internal, where you deal with things rationally and logically.

ESTPs are outgoing, straight-shooting types. Enthusiastic and excitable, ESTPs are "doers" who live in the world of action. Blunt, straight-forward risk-takers, they are willing to plunge right into things and get their hands dirty. They live in the here-and-now, and place little importance on introspection or theory. The look at the facts of a situation, quickly decide what should be done, execute the action, and move on to the next thing.

ESTPs have an uncanny ability to perceive people's attitudes and motivations. They pick up on little cues which go completely unnoticed by most other types, such as facial expressions and stance. They're typically a couple of steps ahead of the person they're interacting with. ESTPs use this ability to get what they want out of a situation. Rules and laws are seen as guidelines for behavior, rather than mandates. If the ESTP has decided that something needs to be done, then their "do it and get on with it" attitude takes precendence over the rules. However, the ESTP tends to have their own strong belief in what's right and what's wrong, and will doggedly stick to their principles. The Rules of the Establishment may hold little value to the ESTP, but their own integrity mandates that they will not under any circumstances do something which they feel to be wrong.

ESTPs have a strong flair for drama and style. They're fast-moving, fast-talking people who have an appreciation for the finer things in life. They may be gamblers or spendthrifts. They're usually very good at story telling and improvising. They typically makes things up as they go along, rather than following a plan. They love to have fun, and are fun people to be around. They can sometimes be hurtful to others without being aware of it, as they generally do not know and may not care about the effect their words have on others. It's not that they don't care about people, it's that their decision-making process does not involve taking people's feelings into account. They make decisions based on facts and logic.

ESTP's least developed area is their intuitive side. They are impatient with theory, and see little use for it in their quest to "get things done". An ESTP will occasionally have strong intuitions which are often way off-base, but sometimes very lucid and positive. The ESTP does not trust their instincts, and is suspicious of other people's intuition as well.

The ESTP often has trouble in school, especially higher education which moves into realms where theory is more important. The ESTP gets bored with classes in which they feel they gain no useful material which can be used to get things done. The ESTP may be brilliantly intelligent, but school will be a difficult chore for them.

The ESTP needs to keep moving, and so does well in careers where he or she is not restricted or confined. ESTPs make extremely good salespersons. They will become stifled and unhappy dealing with routine chores. ESTPs have a natural abundance of energy and enthusiasm, which makes them natural entrepreneurs. They get very excited about things, and have the ability to motivate others to excitement and action. The can sell anyone on any idea. They are action-oriented, and make decisions quickly. All-in-all, they have extraordinary talents for getting things started. They are not usually so good at following through, and might leave those tasks to others. Mastering the art of following through is something which ESTPs should pay special attention to.

ESTPs are practical, observant, fun-loving, spontaneous risk-takers with an excellent ability to quickly improvise an innovative solution to a problem. They're enthusiastic and fun to be with, and are great motivators. If an ESTP recognizes their real talents and operates within those realms, they can accomplish truly exciting things.

BLOOD STATUS:  Halfblood.

SPECIES: 1/16 veela

SOCIAL STATUS: This is a bit tricky, as she constantly has money running through her hands. She probably lives the life of lower middle class, but has on occasion had thousands of galleons in her hands. It changes a lot.

An owl.
A stray cat named Paddy.
A goldfish.

Also changes a lot. Sometimes she had precious jewels. Sometimes she's lucky to own a kettle.

EARLY YEARS: Marley was raised by her mother, mostly, as her father just had little interest in tending to a family. He'd pop in on occasion, moving in for a month or two every time he considered committing to Victoria. At first, Victoria would cry every time Matthias left. But soon, she could not cry about what she had come to expect. Victoria might have impulsive, but she would not be made into a full. The halfbooded woman hardened herself, turned cold and cruel. She began dating other men, self medicating with alcohol and drugs.

This was the environment Marley was raised in. She never really had consistency, except for their home. Their cramped, dirty, apartment complex full of drug dealers, drop outs, and deadly sins. Marley's mother brought home men that were all promising, but they all turned out to be losers - soon, Victoria stopped trying to find the right guy and just settled for the next one.

Marley seemed to be a happy child, despite the squalor of her family life. She never truly wanted for the necessities, always managing to have food, clothes, and a warm bed. Her mother was often not home, but their home became open to others. Terrence, Marley's "uncle", really a shady family friend always made sure his little Teeny Leeny was doing well.

Another influence of hers was a girl about six years older than her who lived four doors down. This was Sloane Garret, a rough and tough girl who claimed to be the daughter of a mobster, though that was never confirmed. Sloane was helping her brother pay their rent by staying at home to facilitate deals, sell what stolen goods he had brought home, and learn the business of life. Sloane took Marley under her wing.

Marley's Hogwarts letter came but Victoria was anxious at being torn from her child. Terrence came up with the idea of homeschooling the girl and offered to be her tutor. Marley agreed - because how was she to know better?

Marley received her education through the American Wizarding Homeschooling System. This meant she and Terrence often had to apparate to Washington and put on happy faces for the homeschooling committee and exams had to be taken. They took pity on the poor bastard girl who's mother was too ill to tend to her, so she managed to get through most of her examinations. Marley, while not smart in an educated sense, has a clever sense when it comes to problem solving, so she managed fairly well.

Meanwhile, she was getting a streets education. The older she got, the more Sloane entrusted her with real jobs. Soon, Marley was making money gathering information, pick-pocketing, and helping manage deals at the age of thirteen. A few times, she had run ins with the law, but her large smile seemed to relax the police and draw out pity, even if the smile noticeably did not reach her eyes.

Victoria was wasting away. She was ill from her poor lifestyle, and the drinking and smoking was not helping. Marley found herself caring very little for her mother, as she had never felt particularly close to her. Terrence had given up trying to make Victoria better and had pretty much moved in by now. Marley was rarely home, always out with Sloane and Sloane's small network of low-time criminals.

But Sloane was ambitious and did not stay among the muck for long. She joined the Death Eaters at seventeen and began doing more work. She was plugged in with the criminal network now and was stealing objects hundred times more valuable than before. She was passing this knowledge on to Marley while Terrence trained Marley in duelling.

But the time Marley was fifteen, she was street savvy and confident. She could meet with men thirty years her elder and feel relatively at ease. She moved out and into an apartment of her own - same complex as Sloane and her mother, but still independent. Bad habits developed, similar to those of her mother's, but she managed them much better.

She felt like her life was made. She had friends, a job, money, and power. It was all a girl could want.

ADULTHOOD: Everything got real shortly after her seventeenth birthday. She had, of course, joined the Death Eaters just like Sloane and was becoming busy with that, leaving Sloane to become more of a solo act. Sloane went on her very first assassination mission in the US but never came back. Marley went looking for her and found her dead. She stayed in the states for about two months until she managed to kill the man Sloane had failed to - her first Unforgivable. She returned home after the two months to find her mother gone - she has assumed Victoria died.

Her ties were cut, so she left England, starting in France, where her father was supposed to be. She worked there for awhile, specializing as a jewel thief, until she uprooted again to Spain, where she helped organize werewolf fights, making tons of money off of cheap gamblers and sadists. By nineteen, she settled in Russia, deciding to study under a man she knew only as Fedor in weapons specialization. She joined the Russian government's law enforcement, enjoying the power. She embezzled while she was there and tampered with paperwork, so she bowed out by the time she was twenty. The next two years consisted of her working directly under Sofie Elkin, the head of the Death Eaters.

Her crimes caught up to her. She had embezzled, cheated, stolen, and killed too often to not get caught. She was dragged in, found guilty, and her execution was decided for the end of March 2028. She wasn't sad, she wasn't scared. So what if death came next. It was sort of nice knowing what was coming next.

But life had a tendency to throw curveballs.

That was when Bentley Pierson came in. She didn't know how much exactly he had paid to get her out, but it had to be a lot. Apparently he had gone to Sofie Elkin, looking for someone to intervene with the English Death Eaters. Sofie had mentioned a woman with blonde hair, a big smile, and blank eyes who, when returning a favor, always did it with vigor. And Marley owed Ben a very big favor.
