Re: Character Development

Post by Phaedra Rosier on Fri Mar 10, 2017 3:11 am

Definition courtesy of google:

refined
rɪˈfʌɪnd

adjective: refined

  • elegant and cultured in appearance, manner, or taste.
synonyms: cultivated, cultured, polished, civilized, stylish, elegant, sophisticated, urbane
    antonyms: boorish, coarse

  • developed or improved so as to be precise or subtle.
  • with impurities or unwanted elements having been removed by processing.

Oh look at that, it even loosely encompasses her arc xP

Is there an object your character would fight to the death to get/keep? What is it?

Not right now. But if there was a MacGuffin around, then maybe.

If you had to re-sort your character today, would they get the same house? (and if not, which one would they get?)

Lily would probably get Ravenclaw. She's not quite as fierce as she was at 11 and more focused on quiet intellectual pursuits.

What's a fantasy your character has that they haven't told anyone (or tell very few people)?

HAHA. The perfect wedding. I think I hinted at it real quick in one thread.

The reason his relationship with Shylock works better than the one with Addie isn't just because I write Shylock, it's also because Selwyn holds women to an impossible standard.

What trait does your character have that you don't often get to show, or that you think goes unnoticed?

Sterling is actually sassy quite often, but when people are kind to her or others, the feeling disappears. She feels rude and could be rude if some people weren't nice enough.

What is your character's favorite activity? (Board games, wizard chess, baking, etc.)

Besides work? Leisure activity would probably be trying new restaurants. She'd be a bit of a foodie if she had the time. Mostly, she just eats takeout and wine though.

What's your character's least favorite daily obligation?

Previously, it was pointless social calls. Currently, obligation is a much more flexible term. The perks of newfound independence.

Has your character ever had/considered having children? Why/why not?

She didn't. Mostly because she is still spoiled brat herself. But I really can't see her having family without ruining what she really is

According to her? Rich, pure, and not an idiot.

In reality? Intelligent, patient, and interesting enough to keep her invested. She needs to be challenged, really.

What is one thing that will cause your character to end their relationship (romantic or otherwise) with someone effective immediately, no questions asked, no second chances?

If someone hurt his siblings he wouldn't just end the relationship, he'd end them.

Does your character know what Amormentia smells like, and if so do they know why?
